Following the victory in Paul Ricard team manager Yan Behlohome announced the purchase of the brand new Norma M30. This weekend the team was running one Norma m30 subsituting the no.8 Ligier JSp3. However the no.9 sister car driven by Lucas and Nelson continued with the Ligier JSP3 .
At first the car seamed challenging for the two but as the weekend progressed the car was able to deliver very competitive lap times. Enqvist scored the fastest lap time in FP2 however the more experienced Borga was up for the task of qualifying. Borga was able to qualify p3 in the brand-new machine, which meant Enqvist would take the start from the 2nd row. Enqvist was up to a good start, fighting in the top until a misunderstanding unfortunately meant going off track while overtaking one of the Ferrari's. as a consequence the car suffered damage leading to the no. 8's retirement.
